Make Your Eyes Appear Younger
Eye
Let’s face it; once you begin creeping near the wonderful age of 30, you start to notice little lines forming around your eyes. Even those lucky enough to have good genes cannot fight the inevitable fact that aging equals wrinkles. And they say 40 is fabulous and 50 is even better, but tell that to your eyes because for some reason I don’t think they got the memo. So how can you get younger looking eyes without Botox? There is an easy way and even though you won’t look like a teenager again, you will look like you still have some pep in your step.
1. After washing your face, prep the eye area with a good eye cream that targets everything, such as Cosmedicine’s Opti-Mologist Eye Cream with Light Diffusers(Compare Prices). Apply as directed and then allow it to set while you begin applying your foundation.
2. When you are finished with your foundation application, make sure you blend it up onto your eye area with your foundation brush. Then you can grab your concealer and brush. Tip - If you are in need of a great mature skin foundation, then you can get some ideas from the Top 5 Foundations for Women Over 40. You can also get more information on mature skin makeup in the Maturity Matters section.
3. Apply your concealer as usual. If you have noticed that your concealer isn’t working as well as it used to, then you may need to kick it up a notch and make a switch. Using a concealer with brightening properties will also help give your eye a lift. Try a product like Benefit’s Erase Paste (Compare Prices).
4. Normally, setting makeup with a powder is a good idea, but the eye area can be tricky. If you feel the need to use powder near the eyes, do so sparingly. It would also be a very good idea to use a light reflecting powder, such as Cargo’s blu_ray Pressed Powder(Compare Prices).
5. Now you can focus on your lids. Before applying your shadow, apply Erase Paste or an eyeshadow base that can brightening abilities or light reflectors. Once the base is in place you can finish your eyeshadow, liner, and mascara. Try to use a semi- matte eyeshadow and also try to keep colors toned down.
6. The last, and probably one of the most important, items you will need is a specific product from Benefit Cosmetics called Ooh La Lift(Compare Prices). It is a magic wand of sorts and can be used before you apply your concealer or put on anytime of day over your makeup. Simply pat 3-4 dots under your eye area and pat into place. You will actually be able to feel the lifting taking place.
